Join your classmates and friends for this year's read-a-thon!

The Fabra Read-a-thon is an opportunity to encourage our students to discover the adventures that can be found inside the cover of a book.  By supporting your reader, you help the Fabra PTO to provide fun and enriching opportunities to the school.  View additional information in our FAQ here.

Starting November 6th, students will have the opportunity to compete with their classmates to reach the highest reading minutes! They will also earn rewards for raising donations. Every student can participate and help make a difference for our school.  Here's how:

1. Sign up:  https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/3538373737

2. Help your student decide on their reading and fundraising goals.

Read-a-thon will automatically populate their donation page, but we encourage each student to set a personal goal that they want to strive for.  See the prize slides below for more information on the incentives and prizes available this year.

The campus-wide goal is to raise, $40,000, and we plan a fun celebration for the whole school if we make it!

3. Ask family members and friends to support your efforts and your reading challenge by making a donation on your Reader Page.

Please note: This Read-a-thon is different from a traditional "a-thon" where friends and family would pledge a small amount "per minute" or "per page."  Instead, students should set a personal goal for themselves (i.e. 500 minutes or 25 minutes per day) and then ask friends and family to support their overall goal with a flat donation amount.

Read, raise and win prizes

READ - READ - READ Students can accumulate reading minutes at school, at home or anywhere they visit between November 6th and November 28th.

Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) sessions will be held at school on a regular basis, so make sure your student brings a book!

CLASSES will participate together to earn prizes for the most minutes read and the most donations raised.

PRIZES will be earned by students for participating!  This year, instead of having various prize levels, we will issue 1 point for every $10 in donations raised.  Students will be able to choose from a variety of prizes to spend their points, allowing them to select what they want (based on the amount they raised).

This year, instead of pieing the principal, Mr. Latiolais plans to take students who raise at least $500 on a trip to the movies!

RAFFLE

Students will earn raffle tickets by registering and sharing their personal read-a-thon page, reading and logging minutes and collecting donations.  At the conclusion of this year's read-a-thon, we will have a drawing for a variety of raffle prizes (we hope to have more than 25 prizes to give away)!

CAMPUS CELEBRATION

If, as a campus, we hit our $40,000 goal, PTO will be putting on a fun celebration for the entire school!
